Norris T. Miller

The funeral service for Norris Tresmon Miller, 86, of Enid will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Brown-Cummings Funeral Home, with Pastor Michael Frisbee officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

He was born April 13, 1929, in Kingman, Kansas, to Tresmon and Josephine Williams Miller, and passed away on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016. Norris was raised on the family farm in the Holcomb, Kansas, area, through difficult times of the Dust Bowl. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the Army and served from 1950-1953; he spent 18 months in Korea. After discharge, he returned to the family farming operations in Kansas.

In November 1957, he married Betty R. Heironimus in Edmond, OK and from this union, daughter Linda and son Michael were born. Norris continued farming and he his brothers owned agriculture dealerships in Lakin and then Garden City, Kansas. He became a manufacturer’s rep for agriculture equipment, travelling Oklahoma, northern Texas and Kansas. His interest and passion for older vehicles led him to begin NT’s Restoration in Enid where he restored antique and classic vehicles. Norris enjoyed collecting stamps, antique tools, puttering in his ‘man cave’ and working in the Groendyke automobile museum.

Norris is survived by his wife, Betty, daughter Linda (Steve) Rea of Fresno, CA and son Michael (Liesl) of St. Louis, MO, grandchildren Burke and Gillian Rea of Fresno, CA, brother Lawrence of Holcomb, KS, sister Geneva (Kenneth) of Garden City, KS and sister-in-law Marilee Miller of Paris, TX and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Norman and John.

Memorial contributions may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation Alzheimer or Parkinson Division, with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home custodian of the funds.
