Milton Lee (Abe) Sissney, Jr.

Funeral services for Milton Lee (Abe) Sissney, Jr., 69, of Waukomis will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at the Waukomis Christian Church with Reverend Dave Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Waukomis Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the United States Navy and DAV of Enid under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Abe was born in Healdton, Oklahoma to Milton and Mildred Sissney. During his childhood years while his Dad worked in the Oil Field he went to multiple schools, moving to Missouri at one time. His father’s career took the family to Kingfisher, Oklahoma where he attended school and it became home.
After high school graduation in 1965, Abe, attended Oklahoma State Tech in Okmulgee, Oklahoma where he meet Linda Robinson and they married in September 1967. After graduation with an Associate Degree in Mechanics he began his career in Kingfisher and then moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Soon after working in Tulsa, he was drafted into the United States Navy Seabees where he served proudly from 1969 through 1970. He served nine months in Vietnam. Once his tour was over he returned to Gulfport, Mississippi and was discharged from the Navy and began working for Coast Materials where he developed his passion for fishing.
In 1972, the family moved back to Oklahoma and finally established their home in Waukomis, Oklahoma in 1974. He was an Automotive Mechanic for Landwehr Motors in Waukomis from 1974 to 1980. In 1980 Abe purchase a Perterbuilt truck and was an Owner/Operator with Crabbs Transports in Enid, Oklahoma. In 2000 he retired from trucking and began his 15-year career at GEFCO in Enid, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton “Wimp” and Mildred, his grandparents and a niece.
He is survived by his wife Linda, his son Ronnie Paul Sissney and his wife Kerri, his daughter Melissa “Missy” Graddick and her husband Barry, and four grandchildren Zachary, and Heather Willig, Katelynn and Ryan Sissney and two brothers James and Raymond Sissney.
