The Funeral service celebrating the life of Mr. Richard Steckler, 80, of Enid is 11:30 A.M. Thursday January 5, 2017 in the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Randy Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the Bierig Cemetery, north of Okeene. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
He was born August 8,1936 on a farm near Ames to R.B. and Edith Wahl Steckler.
He attended Ames public schools and then Oklahoma Bible Academy.
He graduated from Enid High School with the great class of 1955.
He attended Philips University and completed 210 college hours including the Phillips seminary.
He always enjoyed music and was a naturally gifted pianist and musician.
He truly believed that service to humanity was the best work of life.
He lived a very simple life while helping hundreds of people.
He would give his last dollar to someone in need.
He could be found weekdays at our daily bread where he truly enjoyed visiting and helping friends.
He is survived by his God son Karl Girty and several Cousins.
Memorials may be made in his name to Our Daily Bread with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodians of the fund.
