The graveside services celebrating the life of Ernest Lee Sproat, Jr., 86, of Enid, will be held Wednesday, March 8, 2016, at 1:00 P.M. at Okeene Cemetery in Okeene with Rev. Gene Spillman officiating. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Mr. Sproat was born October 28, 1930 in Okeene to Ernest Lee Sproat, Sr. He was raised and educated in Okeene, graduating from Okeene High School. He joined the United States Army in 1948 and served in the Korean War. He worked as a tank Gager for Champlin Refinery until retiring when Champlin closed in Enid. He was a 32 degree Mason and a member of Masonic Lodge # 501. He moved to Enid in 1954. He was a diehard OU Fan.
Mr. Sproat is survived by his daughter Jana Marie Freeman and her husband Roger Lee of Enid, two grandchildren, one step grandchild, seven great grandchildren, and brother Bobby Sproat of Oklahoma City.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister and four brothers.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Circle of Love with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodians of funds.
