Mr. Ed Neighbors

The services celebrating the life of Mr. Edgar Neighbors will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday March 8, 2017 in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kim Giles officiating. Burial will follow in the Grace Lawn Cemetery, in Edmond, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Edgar Neighbors went to be with his Lord on March 4,2017. Ed was
born on November 7, 1931, in Sparks, OK, to James L. and Iva Mae
Neighbors, was the youngest of 13 children, and grew up on the
family farm in Lincoln County. In 1959 Ed co-founded and operated
Parkway Cleaners in Edmond, OK, later becoming the sole owner,
and then passing on the business to his sons upon his retirement. He
was an active member of Bethany United Methodist Church of Enid,
OK, played a major role if starting Shepherd's Cupboard food pantry
in Enid, and was its director for many years.

Ed had two wonderful marriages, first to Mavis Jean Bierman
Neighbors for 43 years, who preceded him in death in 1994. He was
then married to Joan Benge Neighbors for 21 years, who survives
him.

Ed is survived by his son Mark Neighbors and his wife Pamela of
Edmond, OK; son Brian Neighbors of Edmond, OK; daughter Jana
Goetz Neighbors and her husband Thomas Goetz of Clinton,
Tennessee; granddaughter Stephanie Khoury and husband Loubnan
of Edmond, OK; granddaughter Bridgett Chaghouri and husband
Charbel of Edmond, OK; grandson Christopher Neighbors and fiancee
Kelsey Kaline of San Diego, CA; grandson Jacob Neighbors of Fort
Worth, TX; great-grandsons Connor Loubnan Khoury, Alexander Mark
Khoury, soon-to-be grandson Jonathan Neighbors Chaghouri; and
brother Earl Neighbors.

He is also survived by his stepson Stuart Benge and his wife Paula;
stepdaughter Jana Kluck and her husband Fred; stepdaughter-in-law
Cindy Benge (wife of the late Jay Benge); and the numerous
grandchildren and great-grandchildren of his wife Joan Benge
Neighbors.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, stepson Jay Benge, 11
brothers and sisters, and his first wife, Mavis Jean Bierman Neighbors


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ed's memory to the
Shepherd's Cupboard at Bethany United Methodist Church, with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
