Maxine Jackson

January 16, 1921 — March 5, 2017

The services celebrating the life of Mrs. Delta Maxine Jackson will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday March 11, 2017 in Oakwood Christian Church with Reverend Dr. Joe Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Canton Cemetery. Family visitation will take place from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M Friday March 10, 2017. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Delta Maxine Jackson was born on January 16, 1921 in Canton, Ok. to
J. W. "Bill" and Hazel Palmer Waddle.

She attended school in Canton and graduated in 1938 as valedictorian.
At Hills Business University in Oklahoma City, Ok. she was a member of
the Sigma Kappa Chapter of Alpha Iota Sorority. She worked 3 years as

a secretary to the principal at Taft Junior High School and Central High
School in Oklahoma City. She worked 31 years for the United States Gypsum
Co. at Southard, Ok. In 1976 she retired and worked part-time for the
Canton Lumber Co. for 6 and half years.

She was a member of the Oakwood Christian Church, the Silver Chords, the
Willing Workers Sunday School Class and the Prime Timers.

On October 4, 1943, she married Jim Grothe. He died Feb. 11, 1976. On
May 18, 1983 she married Roy Benson. He died Feb. 8, 1988. On September 5,
1991 she married Kenneth Jackson. He died Feb. 12, 1998. And Peggy Ganel (Grothe) Gray passed away on May 9th, 1994

Surviving are one son-in-law Cecil Gray of Canton, Ok.; 1 granddaughter
Mrs. Charles (Jackie) Hoffman of Oakwood, Ok.; 3 grandsons Gary Gray
of Fairview, Ok., Terry Gray and John Gray of Canton, Ok. 14 Great-grand-
children, 28 great-great-grandchi1dren and 9 great-great-great grandchildren.
3 step-sons George Jackson of Murfreesboro, Tn., Larry Jackson of
Carthage, Mo. and Jerry Jackson of Bedford, In. 9 Step-grandchildren and 13 step-great-grandchildren.

Memorial Contributions can be made in her name to Oakwood Christian Church with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.
