Andrew Tyner

January 10, 2011 — October 17, 2018

The Funeral services Celebrating and Honoring the Life of Andrew Tyner, 7, of Goltry will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday October 22, 2018 in the First United Methodist Church of Enid with Reverend Randy Mitchell and Pastor Pat Koehn officiating.  Burial will follow in the Karoma Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Andrew was born January 10, 2011 in Enid to William “Will” and Kristina Newby Tyner, and entered into heaven October 17, 2018.

Andrew was an avid and very focused fisherman. He researched and picked out his baitcasting reel and a specific medium weight rod and he used them with passion.  He could usually be found by a creek or pond hopping around his favorite fishing holes.  Heaven got a top-notch fishing guide to help us find the best honey holes when we meet him up there.

He was all boy. He enjoyed sports, playing outside, running, scraped knees, swimming in any body of water he could get in, checking cattle with his daddy and was a proud Chisholm Longhorn.  Andrew and his brother, Grant, were innovative builders.  They could make bicycle jump ramps out of anything—bricks, scraps of wood, old tires—whatever they could find.  No nail was safe from Andrew’s hammer!  His mom usually stayed loaded up with Band-Aids, ice packs and super glue.  Andrew had a smile that was infectious and could sway you from being upset with him to just having to laugh it off.  He enjoyed going to OSU football games with his Dad, brother and Papa.  He impacted so many people, friends and family in his short time on his journey through this world and will be remembered by everyone who shared a story, fishing adventure, or even his world-famous smile.

He is survived by his parents, William and Kristina (Newby) Tyner, Goltry, brother, Grant and sisters, Emma, and Grace, his maternal grandparents, Tom and Robin Newby, of Enid, his paternal grandparents, Rick and Kay Tyner, of Goltry, his uncle Tanner Newby of Enid, his aunt, Laura (Newby) and Dillon McGuire, and cousins Jack and Eli, all of Laverne, and his aunt Abbey (Tyner) and Rick Berls, and cousins Sophie and Madeleine all of Burlington Township, New Jersey, great grandparents Ruby Newby of Gate, Oklahoma, and Anita Tibbets of Enid, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his Chisholm family and his friends and neighbors of the Helena and Goltry community.

He is preceded by his paternal great grandparents, Dick and Virginia (Ruth) Tyner, of Goltry.

His brother Grant believed every child should have a chance to fish, so memorials may be made in his name to The Fish Fisherman’s Club Derby that will be held in his honor with the Bank of Kremlin and Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds. In Andrew’s words “Just Keep on Fishin’!”

Condolences may be made to the family online at WWW.Brown-Cummings.com.
