Beverly Jane (Rogers) Goodman, a beloved resident of Enid since 1977, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at the age of 65. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Virginia Rogers, and her sister Linda (Terry) Hickerson. She is survived by her sister, Judy (Gerald) Craparotta of Enid, OK; her brother, David (Roxanne) Rogers of Ardmore, OK; her daughter, Ginger (Warren) McGrew of Ponce de Leon, FL; and her sons, Matthew (Angela) Goodman and James (Hayley) Goodman of Enid, OK. She was the cherished grandmother of Aleese, Nash, and Slate McGrew; Landon, Emma, and Blaire Goodman; and Stella and Walker Goodman. She is also survived by her uncle, Jimmie (Carole) Rogers of Hazen, AR; her aunt, Dora Holloway of Hickory Plains, AR; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of friends. Beverly was born on December 27, 1958, in Carlisle, Arkansas, to Charles and Virginia Rogers. Her father was a tool and die machinist and property owner, while her mother balanced homemaking with managing the family’s properties. Beverly spent her childhood in Lutz, FL, and Detroit, MI, before the family returned to Hazen, AR, where she graduated from Hazen High School in 1976.

In 1977, Beverly moved to Enid, Oklahoma, where she would make her home for nearly five decades. She became a member of First Baptist Church and devoted herself to raising her family. For 44 years, she was a loving and dedicated mother to her three children, and for the past 20 years, she was a proud grandmother to her eight grandchildren. Beverly’s greatest joy was her family, and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Alongside her family, she cherished the simple pleasures of life—tending to her flowerbeds and caring for her two dogs. In retirement, Beverly devoted her time to caring for her parents and grandchildren. She had a passion for collecting antiques and jewelry and was always on the lookout for a great bargain. She treasured lake trips with family, watching hummingbirds visit her garden, and observing storms roll in from her front porch. Beverly had a deep appreciation for the night sky, and she loved making her grandchildren laugh with silly noises. She will be missed by all that knew her. Memorials may be made in her honor to the First First Baptist Church and the Goodman-McGrew Children’s Fund with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
