The services celebrating and honoring the life of Bruce Snethen will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday November 13, 2024, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 419 N. Eisenhower Enid, Oklahoma, with a viewing at 1:00 P.M. Graveside Services and Military Services will follow at the Kingfisher Cemetery 14200 SH-33 Kingfisher, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings, A life celebration home.

Bruce Elbert Snethen, of Lahoma, was born February 7, 1940, to Oliver V and Lois Neeland Snethen in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. Bruce passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on November 5, 2024.

His twin brother, Barry Albert Snethen passed at birth. Bruce and his family moved to Enid at the age of three where he was raised and educated, graduating from Enid High School with the class of 1958. He attended Oklahoma State University for a year and a half before enlisting in the United States Air Force. He honorably served his country from 1960 to 1964. He married Joy Mary Mikesell November 17, 1961, from this union came four children, Walter, Justine, Vernon, and Ryan. He returned to Enid and began working in real estate with his father and at George E. Failing Company as a Draftsman for twenty-seven years. He then worked at Envirotech for five years, Waldon of Fairview, Oklahoma for five years and two years at Mabar, of Fairview. He then went to work at Central Machine and tool and Oakwood Bowl in Enid where he continued working until his retirement in 2016. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, an Eagle Scout, and served on the board of Christmas in action. He also served as Lahoma Town Clerk for 25 years, a Lahoma Reserve Police Officer for 13 years, and drove the activity bus for Lahoma Public schools while his kids were in school.

He enjoyed life with his wife Joy Snethen, of the home, four children, Walter Snethen, and wife Cissy, of Paris, Texas, Justine Wilson, of Ponca City, Vernon Snethen, and wife Valerie, of Enid, and Ryan Snethen of Enid, Oklahoma; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Lois Snethen, his infant twin brother, Barry, younger brother Leon Snethen; and nephew Kirk Snethen. 

Memorials may be made in his honor to the Boy Scouts of America with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.
