Charles Rogers

The services celebrating and honoring the life of Charles Lynval Rogers, 87, of Enid, will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday July 5, 2022, in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel, with pastor Craig Fischer officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
Charles was born July 23, 1934, to Thomas and Ona (Kee) Rogers in Hazen, Arkansas, and passed from this life June 30, 2022, in Enid, Oklahoma.
He was raised and educated in Hazen, Arkansas, and he worked on his family’s cotton farm. Later he moved to Detroit, Michigan, where he was trained and worked as a tool and die machinist. For the next few years he worked between Detroit and Hazen.
He married Virginia Holloway January 14, 1953, in Des Arc, Arkansas. The couple moved to Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and then to Texarkana,Texas, where he opened Rogers Tool Die Company, and then later moved to Tampa, Florida, fulfilling company contracts during the Vietnam War for eight years. He then moved to Mount Pleasant, Arkansas, and had a cattle ranch. In 1988 he moved to Enid and started his rental property business. He was a dedicated member of the Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church. He loved fishing and being able to take his grandchildren and great-grandchildren with him.
He is survived by his wife Virginia, of the home; two daughters, Beverly Goodman and Judy Craparotta and husband Gerald, of Enid; one son, David Rogers and wife Roxanne, of Ardmore; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jimmie Rogers and wife Carole of Hazen.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Hickerson, and his sister, Evalyn Gill.
Memorials may be made to the Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church Mission Fund, with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
