The memorial service celebrating the life of Curtis William Helterbrand, 65, of Enid, will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday April 19, 2018 in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael Frisbie officiating. Complete care cremation and services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
He was born December 4, 1952 to Clinton A. Helterbrand and Letha Long in Enid, Oklahoma and passed from this life on April 14, 2018 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
He was raised and educated in Lahoma, graduating from Lahoma High School in 1971. He worked at Next Door Restaurant for 5 years, and then at Atwood’s in retail and helped in opening new stores. He later worked for General Tool and Supply in Hennessey for several years. He then started his business as a real-estate contractor operating for over thirty years. He had a gift to fix absolutely anything. He was a member of The United Church of Lahoma. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and family.
He is survived by one son Shane Helterbrand and wife Heather, of Edmond; one daughter Tina Martinez and husband Shawn, of Guymon; his grandchildren, Trystan, Molly, Braedon, Mason and Gavin; his mother, Letha Helterbrand, of Enid; four brothers, Doug Helterbrand and wife Sharon, of Enid, Mike Helterbrand and wife Kim, of Enid, Russell Helterbrand and wife Kathy, of Enid, and Mark Helterbrand and wife Sherri of Maysville, Kentucky; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clinton A. Helterbrand.
Memorials may be made in his name to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
