The memorial service celebrating and honoring the life of Deborah “Debbie” Kay Pitts, 66, of Waukomis will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Brown-Cummings Funeral Home chapel with Mike Kent Sr. officiating. Services and complete cremation care are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Debbie was born to Dudley and Nancy Pitts on January 23, 1956, in Hayworth, California and passed on May 17, 2022, at Integris of Enid.

She was raised and educated in Hennessey. After school, she married former husband Edmond “Ed” McCartney Sr. on July 18, 1972, and from this union came her two children. She moved to various towns across the country following her husband’s military career. In 1978, she moved to Waukomis where she made her home and raised her family. She began work in 1979 in various professions: road construction, seamstress, waitress, bartender, cashier, housekeeper, and a meat wrapper. She worked at Boy’s Market, Homeland, United, and continued in the meat department at Jumbos. She was a passionate fisher woman and lived for her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Edmond “Eddie” McCartney Jr. of Waukomis, and her daughter, Patricia “Tricia” Collins and husband, Richard “Tuffy” Collins of Hennessey. Her grandchildren Brendon McCartney, Gage McCartney, Ty Collins, Shay Collins, and Paige Collins. Also, her great-grandchildren Maddox, Kyce, and Ronin.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Donny Collums.
