Dianna Waldie

June 14, 1949 — February 10, 2024

The services celebrating and honoring the life of Dianna Gayle Waldie, 74, of Blackwell, formerly of Enid, will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday February 16, 2024, in the Brown-Cummings Chapel. The burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery, Nardin Ok. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings, A life celebration home.

Dianna was born June 14, 1949, to Boyd and Dana Lee Briggs in Blackwell, Oklahoma and passed from this life February 10, 2024, in Blackwell, Oklahoma.

She was raised and educated in Blackwell, graduating from Blackwell high school with the class of 1967. She then attended Northern Oklahoma Collage in Tonkawa and then Northwestern Oklahoma College. She married Earl Malcom Waldie December 30, 1970, in Blackwell, Oklahoma. The couple made their home in Grant County. She worked in Medford as a teacher before they moved to Enid in 1972. She was then a homemaker raising her two children and volunteering at Garfield Elementary School. She then continued her career as an elementary school teacher for sixteen years until her medical retirement, in 2005. She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church and the Ladies Red Hat Association, Enid RSVP Senior center.

She enjoyed Bingo, reading western novels, watching westerns, shopping and of course getting her nails done.

She is survived by her daughter; Jennifer Waldie and her son; Erik Waldie, one granddaughter; Kellan Waldie, Brothers; Jim and Dan Briggs (Helen) all of Blackwell. Sister-in-law; Bernardine Marquez, of Jacksonville Florida

She is preceded in death by her husband, Sister-in-law; Rosalee Briggs and special friend George Nelson.

Memorials may be made in her name to the Oklahoma Heart Hospital or the Mercy Hospital who took incredible care of her.
