The services celebrating and honoring the life of Dorathea Clara Eliza Lorenz Stallard Roberts, 80, of Kingfisher, will be held Sunday, December 18, 2022, at 1:00 pm in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel in Enid, Oklahoma. Those who wish will be able to view her and say their goodbyes at that time. Pastor Mike Whitehead will be officiating. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
She was born September 29, 1942, to Walter John and Gertrude Violet Rott Lorenz in Tulsa, Oklahoma and passed from this life December 12, 2022, in Enid, Oklahoma.
She was raised and educated in Tulsa, serving as a candy striper, sang in the school choir, and was a member of the Latin Club. She graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1960, and she then attended St. John’s Hospital School of Nursing. She married Fred William Stallard on November 22, 1963, in Tulsa, and from this marriage came three children. The family moved to Gulfport, Mississippi, and after surviving Hurricane Camille, they moved to Kingfisher, and she worked for the Okarche Clinic for twenty-nine years as a Nurse. She then worked as a correctional
officer at Diamondback Correctional Facility in Watonga for two years until her retirement. She married Loren Roberts July 15, 2005, on the family’s farm in Kingfisher on horseback. Dorathea was a Girl Scout in her younger years and was a troop leader in adulthood. She enjoyed raising and riding horses, camping, painting, traveling, dancing, baking, sewing and canning. She was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Kingfisher.
She is survived by her sister Bertha Ann Johnson and husband Jeff, her 3 children Laura Kaye, 58, Jon Wade, 55, and Warren Lee, 53 and wife Sheila; her husband Loren, of the home; eleven grandchildren: Rebecca and Christopher Lorenz, Brianna, Charly, Amanda, Jennifer, Paige, Dustee, Crystal, Michael, and Kimberly Stallard; as well as nineteen great grandchildren.
Dorathea was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Gertrude Lorenz; and her children’s dad Fred Stallard.
