The services celebrating and honoring the life of Glenda Lee Anderson, 81, of Waukomis, will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday March 9, 2025, in the Waukomis Community Church with Pastor John Dwyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Waukomis Cemetery. A Visitation will be held 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. Saturday March 8, 2025 in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings, a life celebration home.
Glenda was born October 1, 1943, to Everett and Beulah (nee Walmsley) Jenkins in Enid, Oklahoma and passed from this life March 1, 2025 in Enid.
She was raised and educated in Enid, graduating with the class of 1961. She married B. Gene Anderson on May 25, 1963, in Enid, and from this union came three children, Tim, Jeff, and Jenny.
The family made their home in Waukomis, Oklahoma, where she was a member of the Waukomis United Methodist Church and Waukomis Community Church. As an adolescent, she was a nurse’s aide and a member of the Enid Legionettes Drum and Bugle Corps. She was a long-time employee of Liberty Federal Savings and Loan, and served as the Secretary and Treasurer of the Waukomis Community Church women’s group. She served as a volunteer for a number of years at Integris Bass Hospital. She enjoyed cruising, family trips to Branson, and spending time with her children and grandchildren in their house at Lake Texoma. In addition, she loved spending time with her “Tom Cat” circle of friends during their regular Friday-night get-togethers. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her husband Gene Anderson, of the home; her children, Tim (Betsy) Anderson, of Athens, Ohio, Jeff Anderson (Lanee’) of Waukomis, and Jenny Anderson Elliott (Steve) of Norman; her sister, Linda Roten, of Capron, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren,
She was preceded in death by her father, Everett, her mother, Beulah, and her brother, Mike.
Memorials may be made in her honor to the Waukomis Community Church Youth Fund with Brown-Cummings serving as the custodian of the funds.
