The memorial services celebrating and honoring the life of Glenda Hollander, 82 of Enid will be held privately.
Glenda was born August 14, 1941 to Onno and Paulene Sterler Heidebrink at home in Little Rock, Iowa and passed from this life July 26, 2024 in Enid, Oklahoma.
She was raised and educated in Little Rock, Iowa graduating from Little Rock High School with the class of 1959. She worked in a café in Rock Rapids, Iowa for two years after high school. In 1961 she married Darold Hollander. She then moved with her husband to Fort Sill, Oklahoma, following his career in the United States Army for two years. The couple then moved to Rock Rapids, Iowa where they made their home. She was a homemaker and enjoyed raising her family. In 1969 the family moved to Enid, Oklahoma where she began working for Enid Public Schools Central Kitchen where she continued working until 1992. The couple then moved to Branson, Missouri where she worked as the cafeteria supervisor at the College of the Ozarks until her retirement after eighteen years. The couple returned to Enid in 2016.
She always enjoyed spending time with her family doing activities and watching them play sports. She also loved watching college basketball.
She is survived by her husband Darold Hollander, of the home, daughter Carmel Shook, of Yantis, Texas; son Todd Hollander, of Enid, Oklahoma , three grandsons, Christopher Shook, Dusty Shook, and Taylor Hollander; three great grandchildren, Aspen, Gianna, and Boston; and one sister Mavis Palmer, of Spirit Lake, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Arnold Heidebrink and Robert Heidebrink.
Memorials may be made in her honor in lieu of flowers to the Marfan foundation with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.
