The services celebrating and honoring the life of Harold Dean Copenhaver, 80, of Enid, will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday April 5, 2022, in the House of Prayer, burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. A visitation will be held 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Monday April 4, 2022, in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Dean was born September 9, 1941, to John Dean “J.D.” and Juanita Faye (Mitchell) Copenhaver in Alva, Oklahoma and passed from this life March 30, 2022, in Enid, Oklahoma.
He graduated from Decoma High School in 1959 and worked as a grocer for three years. He then began working at the Cherokee Mills Elevator and the family farm for several years. He married the love of his life Marguerite Munger January 5, 1961, they were married fifty-six years at the time of her passing. The couple moved to Chicago, Milwaukee, and Arizona, where he worked for the school system for seven years. In 1978 the family returned to Enid where he worked for Gold Spot Dairy for three years. He then worked at Bass Hospital for nine years and lastly, Stuart Cadillac Nissan retiring after over eight years as a currier at the age of sixty-six.
He loved and cherished his family and had a special heart for children, he with his wife lovingly raised foster children for over fifteen years. He was a member at The House of Prayer. He enjoyed woodworking, building things with his hands, and his morning coffee group.
He is survived by his daughter, Dee and Chris Pullin, Son Kevin and Lori Copenhaver, of Enid; two granddaughters; five great grandchildren; and one sister, Carolyn Faye Elliott, of Show Low, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marguerite, son Harold Dean Copenhaver Jr.; granddaughter, Kristin Talley (Pullin) Harger; one brother, and his parents.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in his honor to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation Colon Cancer division or Hospice Circle of Love with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
