Jack G. Anderson

June 8, 1932 — April 8, 2018

The Funeral services celebrating and honoring the life of Mr. Jack G. Anderson, 85, of Waukomis will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday April 11, 2018 in Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Waukomis Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Navy Honor Guard. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

He was born June 8, 1932 in Waukomis, Oklahoma to Gilbert and Helen Anderson and passed from this life on April 8, 2018 in Waukomis, Oklahoma.

He was raised and educated in Waukomis, graduating from Waukomis High School. Jack then joined the United States Navy and went to Korea with the Marines where he served as a medic in the Korean War. After his honorable discharge Jack attended Phillips University where he played basketball, graduating in 1956.

Jack married Nancy Anderson and then became a C.P.A. in the Enid area, opening the first H&R Block in downtown in 1958. He then worked in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma as a financial manager, an accountant, and an investor for a Psychiatry group. Jack was a member of the Men’s Master Gardner’s Club. He then returned to Waukomis to complete and establish, along with his family Ronnie and Vickie Anderson, his own C.P.A. company at his home until his retirement.

Jack also was the founder of Aikido and Judo Life Schools Int. along with his son and co-founder Ron Anderson, grandson; Jeremy Anderson, and James Bode. Jack leaves a legacy of the most modern, current and effective teaching and training methods of ancient martial arts.

Jack’s “one-liners” and his incredible sense of humor tempered by his dry wit and especially his love and example of life he portrayed to his family will be missed.

He is survived by his wife; Nancy Anderson; children, Ron and Debbi Anderson of the home and Vickie Anderson Abernethy of Enid.

Jack leaves his legacy to his own grandchildren, Jacquelyn Abernethy, Jamie and Erik Sunderland, and Jeremy Anderson; his great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Julie, Allison Kay, and John.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Jonathan Anderson; and his sister; Barbara.

Memorials may be made in his name to Hospice Circle of Love with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
