Jay G. Warnock

July 11, 1929 — August 5, 2017

The funeral services celebrating and honoring the life of Jay Gene Warnock will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday August 10, 2017 in the Christ United Methodist Church with Pastor Michael Robnett, Pastor Jack Peck and Reverend Richard Goad officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Military funeral honors will be held by the United States Marine Corp. Visitation will be held in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Wednesday from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M.  Family will be in attendance during visitation.  Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

He was born to Wesley and Nellie Williams Warnock July 11, 1929 in Manchester Ok.  He has raised and educated in Manchester and Nash, Graduating from Nash High School in 1947.

He married the love of his life for 67 years, Donna M. Slaughter June 4, 1950 in Enid.

He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1952 and was honorably discharged in 1954. The couple made their home in Kremlin where he worked as the manager of the Farmers Grain Company for over 40 years.  He retired in 1996 and he and Donna moved to Enid.  He was a long-time member and Sunday school teacher at the Kremlin United Methodist Church, a 50-year member of the local Lyons Club. He served on the boards of Kremlin Hillsdale School and Kremlin United Methodist Church.  He was a member of the board of Triangle Cooperative Service Company for over thirty years.  He enjoyed watching the OKC Thunder, OU and OSU football, Dallas Cowboy football and anything his kids or grandkids were doing.

Gene was most proud of the accomplishment of their children, all 5 of which, graduated from college.  Also, all of his grandchildren have either accomplished this or are pursuing a degree. If you had a conversation of any length with Gene, you were sure to hear about his kids and especially his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife Donna, of the home, and their five children;  Joy Malone and husband Terry of Bartlesville, Larry Warnock of Tahlequah, Janell Warnock of Thornton Co., James Warnock and wife Robin of Ransom Canyon Tx. and Shelley Ryland and husband Rob of Oklahoma City, nine grandchildren;  Dr. Kristen Warnock of Edmond, Corey Warnock and great granddaughter Paris of Lubbock, TX., Jarrod Warnock of Fort Worth, TX., Caitlin Lovett and Shannon Lovett of Thornton, CO., Christy (Cameron) Hedges and husband Jared and great granddaughter Ruby of Tulsa, Dr. Brent Cameron and wife Kristin and great grandson Asher of Nashville, TN, Madelyn Ryland and Collins Ryland of Oklahoma City,  brother Thomas and wife Carol of Enid, sister Clyda Gore and husband Perry of Texoma Ok.

He is preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Margaret and sister Roberta Foster.

Memorials may be made in his name to the Alzheimer Foundation in honor of his wife, Donna, with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodians of the fund.
