Jerry Mccune

The Services celebrating and honoring the life of Jerry Lynn McCune, 75, of Enid will be held privately. An open visitation will be held December 1, 2021 through December 4, 2021. Complete cremation care is under the direction of Brown- Cummings Funeral Home.

He was born May 3, 1946, to Lyle George and Dora Bell (Conley) in Beaver, Oklahoma and passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021, after a battle with Parkinson’s disease.

He graduated from Enid High School in 1964 and married Sharon Ann Colegrove on March 20, 1965. Throughout Jerry’s career, he always wanted everyone to succeed. In 1974, he helped create the first service agreement between Local Lodge 898 and Northrup-Gruman. Elected in 1976, he served as local lodge President until 1992.In 1996, he was elected the local Business Representative, and consecutively elected Directing Business Representative in 2004 covering most of Oklahoma, and parts of Kansas and Arkansas. He served in that capacity until
retiring on December 31, 2012. Highlights from his career include implementing the IAMAW Pension Plan, organizing the district, and being inducted into the Oklahoma AFL-CIO Labor Hall of Fame in October 2019.

Most importantly, Jerry loved his family and enjoyed a life surrounded
by siblings, daughters, nieces and nephews, and granddaughters.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sharon McCune, his brother, Lyle “Bud” McCune, wife Barbara, his sister, Karen Cole, his brothers-in-law, Lynn Colegrove, John Colegrove, wife Laurie, and Jeff Colegrove, wife Beverley, his daughters, Kim McCune-Ulate, husband Steve, and Kristi Sussmann, husband Chris, his granddaughters, Marli Sussmann and Madison Sussmann, husband Matt Worrell, Isabella Ulate, Gabrielle Ulate, and Sabrina Ulate, his nephew Justin McCune, and many other beloved nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Dora Bell McCune, and sister, Mary Ellen Moseley, and in-laws, Clyde and Dorothy Colegrove.

Jerry was a wonderful husband, father, uncle, grandfather, mentor, friend, and role model. He was a Master Mason at Enid Lodge #80. He loved life. He loved to hunt, fish, cook, his Dodge Diesel trucks, and to travel all across the United States with his family. He lived a full life.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no service. A register book is available for those who would like to sign at Brown-Cummings Funeral Home
