The Graveside service celebrating and honoring the life of Mr. Jim L. Baker, 84, of Ponca City formerly of Enid will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday April 25, 2017 in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Army. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
He was born to Ralph and Ruth Sanger Baker in Woodward, Oklahoma October 20, 1932 and passed from this life April 21, 2017 at his home in Ponca City with his family by his side.
He moved to Enid with his family as a young boy and attended Enid Schools and began working at an early age to help support his family. He enlisted in the United States Army and served his country for 11 years and two terms in Korea during the Korean War.
After his military career, he made his home in San Francisco, California and later returning to Watonga, Oklahoma where he worked as a realtor.
Along with being a realtor he also worked various other jobs and could fix anything and was a gifted wood worker.
He married his current wife Mary Jo Stillians May 28, 2005. The couple made their home in Enid before moving to live in Ponca City in 2010.
He was member of the J.C.’s and a member of the 2 nd Baptist church of Ponca City.
He is survived by his wife of the home, children Laura Baker, Ronnie Baker and wife Janine, Larry Baker, Glenda Cordova, Jamie Blair and husband Sean; Step Children Jimmy Mollet and wife Becky, Gary Mollet and wife Lynn, Christy Kiser and husband Doug, Kara Lee and husband Corey, Jimmy Mollet III and wife Ashley and Lonnie Mollet; Eight Grandchildren, Two Great Grandchildren, numerous step grandchildren and a host of Nieces and Nephews, and his beloved dog Darlene.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Son Tony Baker, Brothers, Bill, and Bob, sisters Darlene Cooper and Mary Louise Baker.
