The services celebrating and honoring the life of John Anthony Kintz sr., 80, of Enid, will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday February 10, 2024, in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings, A life celebration home.
John was born February 20, 1943, to John G. and Loretta Parrish Kintz in Roswell, New Mexico and passed from this life February 2, 2024, with his wife and grandson Josh nearby, in Enid, Oklahoma.
He was raised and educated in Lake Arthur, New Mexico graduating with the class of 1961. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army, honorably serving his country at Ft. Bliss Army Base. He then moved to Enid, Oklahoma. He graduated from Phillips University achieving his bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1974. He married Kathy Walker November 14, 1970 in Enid, Oklahoma.
The couple made their home in Enid, Oklahoma. He worked as a supervisor for Dowell for twenty years then working in the environmental industry. He retired in 2011. He enjoyed reading, fishing, traveling, and visiting with friends and family, his sisters Jeanette, Jacqueline and Joe.
He is survived by his wife of over 53 years Kathy Kintz, two daughters, Shannon Holbrook, of Las Vegas, Nevada and Megan Nafus, of Enid, one son John Kintz jr., of Dexter, New Mexico; his grandchildren, Josh, Sean, Andrew, James, Jon, Jessica, and Heather, three great grandchildren, Jason Kintz, whom he was over the moon about, Liam, and Landon.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Loretta Kintz and one sister Theresa.
Memorials may be made in his honor to St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.
