The services celebrating and honoring the life of Jose Vasquez Martinez, 53, of Carrier, will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday December 28, 2024, in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kelly Cronkite, from the Carrier Congregational Church officiating. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings. 

Jose was born May 10, 1971, and passed from this life December 20, 2024, near Carrier, Oklahoma.

He was raised and educated in Mexico. He moved to the United States thirty-five years ago and became a U.S. citizen. He worked for R & R Oilfield services driving both long and short hauls. While living in Dumas, Texas he helped construct and pastor a church. He married Tammy Howard Church September 28, 2023, at their home in Carrier, Oklahoma. He was a very hard worker; he was always working around the house and gardening. He loved playing the guitar and music. 

He is survived by his wife Tammy Howard Church, of the home. Two daughters, Dixie Martinez and Galilia Martinez; one son Jose Martinez and his wife Delilah, all of Dumas, Texas; and six grandchildren. 

Memorials may be made in his honor to the Galilia Martinez Care Fund with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.
