Karen was born August 7, 1935, to Burton and Ruth Hatchett Moler in Tulsa, Oklahoma and passed from this life into the arms of Jesus, December 7, 2021, in Enid, Oklahoma.

She was raised and educated in Tulsa graduating from Central High School with the class of 1953. Their family actively attended the First Presbyterian Church of Tulsa where Karen and her sister Sally were members of the children’s choir and  youth choir, under the direction of mother, Ruth Moler, choir director.  They sang for many activities in church and in the Tulsa community, and participated in choir contests all around, earning honors for their singing.

Karen attended Oklahoma A & M where she was a proud member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and where she met John David Lamerton. She and John (the love of her life) married August 6, 1955.  It was a double wedding at the First Presbyterian Church, Tulsa with sister Sally and husband Jerry Shipley.  The two Moler girls from Tulsa, marrying two Enid boys was quite the event.

John and Karen made their home in Enid and she loved her life as a devoted mother and wife. She was a member of the Enid Junior Welfare League, P.E.O chapter AQ and the First Presbyterian Church in Enid. After moving from Enid to Humble, TX, Karen was a charter member of the Atoscocita Presbyterian Church. She was an avid champion tennis player at the Atascocita Country Club. Karen and John lived in Humble, Texas forty years before returning to Enid to be close to family.  She was a wonderful wife, mom, grandmother “Ommie”, sister, aunt and friend.  Her laughter and joy of life were infectious and will be missed.
