The Memorial Service celebrating and honoring the life of Kim Kay Pope, 69, of Enid will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday March 25, 2025 in the Brown-Cummings Chapel with Marc George officiating. Complete cremation care and services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings, A life celebration home.
Kim was born December 21, 1955, to Lawrence and Hermine Pope in Enid, Oklahoma and passed on from this life March 5, 2025, in Enid, Oklahoma.
Kim was raised and educated in Enid, Oklahoma graduating from Enid High School with the class of 1974. Throughout High School she was active in the Big Blue Band playing the flute, piccolo and the Bassoon. She worked at the YMCA where she broke up several fights and became the “Official Bouncer”. She then worked at Bob’s Cone Corner where she was known to “out eat” any boy! In 1975 she was involved in a vehicle accident caused by a drunk driver resulting in a Traumatic Brain Injury. The doctors did not expect Kim to make it through the night much-less the next forty-nine years. Kim enjoyed life, she was always known as a “sassy spitfire”, She liked food, but always maintained a small figure, she always like to watch westerns especially, Rifleman and anything John Wayne. She never stood for injustice of any kind. She loved the company of others; Kim loved everyone and everyone loved her.
She is survived by her Sissy and best friend, who has given her care for the past forty-nine years, Charlene Pope “Pinky”; and her sweet angel nurse, Jacque Abatan; and numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins that all loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Hermine Pope; grandparents, William and Maggie Pope and George and Lucille Rhinehart.
Pinky would like to extend her sincere appreciation to the wonderful nurses and caregivers at Elara Caring Hospice; her family friend from Colorado, Vergie Gallagher; and Kim’s good friends from high school, Tere Shoemaker Webber and Traci Bandy Jenkins.
Condolences and special memories may be shared with the family online at WWW.BrownCummings.com.
