The Funeral services celebrating and honoring the life of Lawrence Yunker, 49, of Enid will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday December 12, 2019 in the Central Christian Church followed by a reception in fellowship hall. Burial will follow in the Rosemound Cemetery of Medford. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Lawrence was born on September 02, 1970 to Dennis Lawrence and Martie Gibson Yunker in Caldwell, Kansas and passed from this life on December 06, 2019 in Norman, Oklahoma.
He was raised and educated in Wakita, graduating from Wakita High School in 1988. He then attended Oklahoma State University and was a member of the Farmhouse Fraternity. He transferred to Northwestern Oklahoma State University and graduated in 1992 with his bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Business. He accepted a position with Farm Credit of Garden City, Kansas. He continued his career with Farm Credit working in the Elk City and Clinton. He accepted a position with Central Nation Bank of Enid where he assisted the people of Enid and the surrounding areas with their banking needs for more than twenty years. In 2011, he earned a degree from the Graduate School of Banking in Colorado. He then continued his extensive banking career and pursued entrepreneurial opportunities.
Lawrence and his former spouse had two children. He was a passionate person and enjoyed a wide variety of music, loved his time at the beach and the lake, and he traveled extensively. He was very active with the Chisholm Athletic Booster Club and had a lifetime involvement in Farming and Ranching. He was most proud of all the accomplishments of his children.
He is survived by his Children, Britton and Briley, Mother Martie Young and her husband Lyle, Wife, Laura Yunker, Brother, Jake Yunker, and Half Siblings Kathryn, Matthew, Andrew, Step Mother, Fawna, Step Sibling Stephanie Young Parker and her husband Eric, a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Memorials in his name may be made to the Northwestern Oklahoma State University Foundation for an Endowed Scholarship with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as the custodian of the funds.
