The Services celebrating and Honoring the Life of L.G. “Glenn” Semke, 101, of Enid will be held privately at a later date. Complete cremation care is under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Glenn Semke passed away Tuesday, December 4,at 101 years of age. He is survived by his
three daughters, Diana Coble, Ann Johnson, and Sue Schiwetz, along with five grandchildren
and five great grandchildren. Myrth Semke, his wife of thirty years and beloved mother of his children, passed away in 2001. Glenn grew up in Enid and after his discharge as a Lieutenant in the Army Air Corp in 1945, he returned to open “Semke Used Cars.” He remained in the automobile business for most of his life and later invested in real estate. He was often seen driving around Enid in his replica of a 1939 Auburn Roadster, appearing in numerous Cherokee Strip parades, with Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy as accessories. Glenn was an avid supporter of the Enid YMCA and joined when it first opened in 1963. He was an active member through the age of 98 and when he turned 100, the “Y” celebrated him with a birthday party and honored him as its longest sustaining member, awarding him with a commendation and a Lifetime Membership. When Glenn wasn’t jogging or playing racket ball at the “Y,” he enjoyed dancing to the tunes of Glenn Miller.

No memorial service is scheduled, per Glenn’s request.

The family requests that any donations in memory of Glenn be made to the Enid YMCA or to Wounded Warriors with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
