M. Susan Purdum

Mary Susan Purdum of Enid, Oklahoma passed away from Alzheimer’s Disease on March 9, 2024, with her husband of 54 years, Mike Purdum, by her side.

Memorial services will be held privately, and the family encourages donations to the Alzheimer’s Association (https://www.alz.org/get-involved-now/donate) in lieu of flowers.

Susan was born July 19, 1948, to Emma Violet “Prim” and Edward Klein. She had two sisters, Dorothy and Audrey, and one brother, Thomas.

She is survived by her husband Mike, two sons David and Daniel, daughter Meredith and five grandchildren: Addison, Lucy, Owen, Oliver and Caroline.

Susan lived a life filled with kindness. She enjoyed playing the piano, elephants and chocolate. She graduated from Enid High School in 1966 and received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Oklahoma State University in 1970.

She married Mike on February 15, 1970, at Enid First United Methodist Church. The couple followed Mike’s military career, spending time in Mountain Home, Idaho before returning to Oklahoma, where they lived in Guymon, Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Enid.
