Surrounded by his loving family, Norman "Mark" Garrison passed away at his home on August 5, 2019 following a lengthy illness.

Mark was born in Altus, Oklahoma on October 23, 1950 to Norman and Joyce Quillin Garrison. He then went to Lawton for a couple of years while his dad was a police officer there. His family then moved to Enid where Mark attended school and was a 1968 graduate of Enid High School. Enid was Mark's home and he loved it.

Mark enlisted in the Air Force in 1972 where he served in Thailand and was honorably discharged in 1976. He then attended Northwestern University where he received his accounting degree. He began his career as accountant at Lew Ward Drilling. He worked as a payroll accountant for Enid Public Schools and then as a bus aide in the transportation department. He loved the kids riding on his bus and they loved him. He would have candy for the kids and occasionally a "surprise".

Mark had a kind, compassionate, and generous spirit. He would do anything for anyone, always thinking of others. At one time he even gave the shirt he was wearing to a lady that said she really liked it. He would buy something for himself and one for his brother and sister, and even friends.

Mark was a big OU fan and his house was the place to be on game day. You could find him firing up the grill for his famous bratwurst. He created and founded On the Sidewalk Bar and Grill. Time with family and friends meant a lot to him. Mark got to fulfill one of the things on his bucket list right after his diagnosis. He had always wanted to go to Niagara Falls. With the help of his two good friends, Doug and John, he got to go and loved the falls.

Mark is survived by his brother Ron Garrison and fiance Sammie Braly of Enid, Connie Williams of Edmond, many nieces and nephews, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by both parents.

A special thank you to Stephenson Cancer Center, Oklahoma City, Dr. Dennis Mcintyre, Enid, and Ross Hospice Care, especially Tiffany, for the wonderful care and concern for Mark.

“Our brothers and sisters are there for us from the dawn of our personal stories to the inevitable dusk” Susan Murell

God has gained one of the kindest, most generous men that will be missed by many.
