Mary "Rosie" Shade

The Memorial service celebrating and honoring the life of Mary R. Shade, 78, of Enid will be held 3:00 Thursday November 30, 2018 in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel. Services and complete cremation care are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

She was born September 17, 1940 in Westfield, Indiana to Thomas Francis Martin and Alice Christine Simms and passed from this life on November 16, 2018 in Enid, Oklahoma.

She was raised and educated in Westfield, Indiana and moved with her family to Akron, Ohio. She played the trumpet and French horn in the marching band She attended Bookdale High School and graduated from John R. Butchel High School in 1957. She then moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming and in 1993 she moved to Enid, Oklahoma. She worked at various restaurants throughout her life including The Hitching Post in Cheyenne, and Ramies Restaurant in Enid for over thirteen years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ohio, the Lutheran Church in Wisconsin, and was a Jones Daughter in the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her daughter, Terri Becker of Enid, brother Donald Lee Martin, of Tulsa, Oklahoma,  sister Tonya Ballard, of Mansfield, Ohio, and Karole Breckenridge, of Akron, Ohio, brother, Thomas Martin, grandchildren, Shawn Hynes, of Texas, Christina Slater, of New York, Jonnie Becker, of Enid, great grandchildren Kobbie Hynes, of Texas, Aydan Seals, and Megan Hynes, of Little Rock, Arkansas, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Mary Roxanne Roberson, and brothers; Tommy and Robert.
