The Home Going services celebrating the life of Nathaniel Phillips Sr., 89, of California will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday July 12, 2019 in the Wannamaker Baptist Church of Dover with Reverend Elder Derwin Norwood officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Crescent. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Nathaniel Phillips Sr. departed from this life June 16 ^th , 2019 at the age of 89 years old in Oxnard, California. He was born April 10 ^th , 1930 to George and Mollie Phillips in Dover, Oklahoma. He was raised and attended schools in Dover, Oklahoma. He moved to Enid and married Inez M. Haley and to this union eight children were born. He then moved to Oxnard, California and married Elmira Hutcherson. He was a Deacon at Ventura Church of God for twenty-five years. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mollie Phillips, sister, Hazel Clark, brothers, Sylvester, Sherman, Amos, Jean, and Manuel, and son, Stanley Phillips. He is survived by wife, Elmira Phillips, of Oxnard, California, children, Jean Bell, Cindy Phillips, Nathaniel Jr., Annetta Phillips, Anita Phillips, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Rodney Phillips, Lisa Phillips Hampton, sons-in-laws, Larry Mitchell, of Enid, Oklahoma, Walter Hampton, sister-in-law, Annie Mae Phillips, niece, Delois Donna Phillips, eight grandchildren, and twelve grandchildren.
