The memorial services celebrating and honoring the life of Richard Robert Rockwell, 77, of Enid will be held privately. Complete cremation care and services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings, A life celebration home. Richard was born September 6, 1946, to Wesley and Dorothy Fuller in Eureka, California and passed from this life November 20, 2023, in Enid, Oklahoma. He was adopted by Glenn and Stella Rockwell and was raised in Enid, Oklahoma graduating from Kremlin High School with the class of 1965. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged from the United States Navy in 1968. He then traveled around the United States hitchhiking. He met his first wife Jill while attending college in San Francisco, California. In 1978 he married Donna Cain in Oklahoma; the couple was married for thirty-two years at the time of her passing in 2010. From this union he gained two stepchildren. The couple lived in Oklahoma, Colorado, and Tucson, Arizona, where he owned and operated “Poor Richard’s Restaurant”. He then worked as the Manager and Chef at several establishments until his retirement in 2000. He married Laura Byrd while he was in ICU in Enid, Oklahoma October 16, 2023, after living together as a husband and wife for 9 years. Riding his motorcycle into the wind was his passion. He is survived by his wife Laura, of the home, two stepchildren, Tabitha Collins, of Enid and Larry Cain, of Arizona; stepchildren Susan Wagner and husband Rob of Cleburne, Texas, Amanda Rodriguez, and fiancée Richard Lane, of Enid, and Brandy Byrd, of Willis, Texas. He is also survived by his brother Michael Rockwell and sister Dorothea Staley. He was preceded in death by his second wife Donna Rockwell and his parents Glenn and Stella Rockwell.
