The services celebrating and honoring the life of Sally Phillips, 69, of Enid, will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday October 19, 2022, in the Oakwood Christian Church. A visitation will be held 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Tuesday October 18, 2022, in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Burial will take place privately before the service. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Sally was born April 14, 1953, to John W. “Jack” and Charlotte Duke White in Bartlesville, Oklahoma and passed from this life October 14, 2022, in Enid, Oklahoma.
She was raised and educated in Muskogee, Oklahoma graduating from Muskogee High School with the class of 1971. She attended Northeastern Oklahoma State University and graduated from Tulsa Community College in 1979 as a Registered Nurse. She married Dr. Lynn Phillips June 16, 1979, in Tulsa Oklahoma. The couple lived in Grand Prairie, Texas and then Oklahoma City for three years and moved to Enid in 1982 where they made their home. She worked for OU Health Center, Oklahoma Blood Institute, Plasma division, Oklahoma Osteopathic Hospital and Muskogee Regional Medical Center. When her children were small, she enjoyed being a stay-at-home mother to her three children, Drew, Bailey, and Wade.
She was a member of the Newcomers club, P.E.O. Chapter DO, Junior Welfare League, Chairman of the Muskogee High School Reunion class of 1971, she was very active in the Gaslight Theatre, starting the Children’s Drama Camp, a member of Christ United Methodist Church for many years, serving as a Lay Leader on the State Board and loved organizing the Pumpkin Patch, she later became a member of the Oakwood Christian Church where she remained active in church. She enjoyed and was active in the Emmaus community.
Sewing, Cooking, embroidering, and volunteering at the Hillsdale Christian School. She absolutely loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband Dr. Lynn Phillips, of the home, three children, Drew Phillips (Brittany), of Denver, Colorado, Bailey Phillips, (Vance), of Enid, and Wade Phillips and wife Cara, of Yukon, Oklahoma; and one granddaughter Brooke Phillips, of Enid, step mom Eva White, of Muskogee, of Muskogee along with two granddaughters’ she adopted as her own, Kaitlyn and Jaylyn Perrott.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Charlotte White and her father-in-Law, Jim Phillips.
Memorials may be made in her honor to the Gaslight Children’s Drama Camp, Sally Phillips scholarship fund with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
