Sandy was born July 22, 1950, to Leroy W. and Ruby M. Burdick Sparks in Enid, Oklahoma and passed from this life September 22, 2023, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
She was raised and educated in Enid, graduating from Enid High School with the class of 1968. She married Dennis Hladik on May 13, 1977, in Enid. She studied Psychology at Phillips University and achieved her Bachelors and Master’s in Psychometry and Early Childhood Education at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. She worked for the state of Oklahoma as a school Psychometrist for ten years and later contracted for smaller schools until her retirement in 2020.
She was a long-time member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church and the Junior Welfare League. She enjoyed the bowling league, laughing with her sisters and friends, painting, crafts, visiting casinos, and taking spontaneous vacations with her husband around the country at their own pace. Sandy was an avid fan of Kremlin-Hillsdale sports and band, hosting many dinners at their home and serving on the Booster club. She had great pride in her local community and enjoyed getting to know everyone she met. She absolutely loved her family and friends and was an avid supporter of each of them. She was an “all-in mother”, never doing anything halfway. After retiring from education, she spent her time chasing her grandkids activities.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis Hladik, of the home, three sons, Joseph “Joe” Hladik and wife Jennifer, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, John Hladik and wife Courtney, of Colwich, Kansas, and Gregory “Greg” Hladik and wife Melissa, of Mansfield, Texas; Nine grandchildren, Emery, Ethan, Lilia, Harlow, Ella, Piper, London, Kruse, and Marco; her father, Leroy Sparks; four sisters, Anita and husband Don Wellman, Donna and husband Roy Gay, Nancy and husband Jeff Enabnit, all of Enid, and Susan and husband Ken Kenner, of Vernon, Texas.
