Scott was born December 15, 1951, to John and Barbara Hagan MacGregor in Hardtner, Kansas and passed from this life February 23, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

He was raised and educated in Medicine Lodge, Kansas graduating from Medicine Lodge High School with the class of 1969. He then went on to study at the University of Kansas. He then began working as a racing official at harness tracks in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey through much of the 1970’s before coming home to Kansas in 1977 when he began his career in banking. He married Cynthia Smith on April 13th of 1977. They later divorced. They adopted their only son, Michael in July of 1981. He married Ellen Johnson November 4, 1989, in Enid where the couple made their home. Scott enjoyed watching all sports, but especially Kansas City Royals baseball and KU basketball. Upon the birth of his first grandson, he began making the trip to Oklahoma City monthly to visit without fail. He would continue to make these visits until a few years ago when he decided to move to Mustang, Oklahoma to be closer to his son and three grandchildren. He then was able to attend all of their school performances, piano recitals, and Taekwondo tests. He absolutely loved his grandkids.

He is survived by his son Michael MacGregor and wife May Moon MacGregor; three grandchildren Maddex, Miles, and Madison MacGregor, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his siblings, Elizabeth Phillips, of Lawrence, Kansas, Allison Keller, of Cassody, Kansas, and Fr. Laird MacGregor, of Edwardsville, Kansas.
