Stanley Cardin

The graveside services celebrating and honoring the life of Stanley Joe Cardin, 79, of Enid, will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday May 13, 2022, in the Enid Cemetery; burial will follow in the Enid Cemetery with Military Honors presented by the United States Army Honor Guard, under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Stanley Joe Cardin was born January 18, 1943, to Phillip S and Alice (Stanley) Cardin in Pawhuska, Oklahoma and passed from this life May 9, 2022, in Enid, Oklahoma.

He was raised and educated between Barnsdall and Bartlesville. In the late 1950’s he moved Perry and graduated from Orlando High School with the class of 1961. He then moved to Hennessy where he began his career in the oil industry while raising two young brothers.

In 1968 he was drafted into the United States Army and served in the Vietnam Conflict, during this time he met his future wife Nguyen “Kim” Nam. He was honorably discharged in 1970.

He returned to his job in the oil industry in Hennessey until his wife arrived in the United States five months later. The couple was married December 30, 1970, in San Jose, California. The couple made their home in Marshall, Oklahoma until moving to Enid in 1978.

He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed fishing and golfing.

He is survived by his wife Kim Cardin, of the home, sisters, Kitty and Jim Coffman, Louise Savoy, Evelyn Spurgeon, Sandy McLaughlin, Alma and Terry Klingelsmith, JoAnn Valankcic; one brother, Bill Cardin; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Phillip and Alice Cardin, three brothers, Ted, Todd, and Earl Cardin; and one sister Cookie Cardin.
