Stephen "Steve" Rich

A celebration of Life for Stephen Dwight Rich, Age 69, of Enid, will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday November 3, 2022, in the Grace Mennonite Church with Pastor Mike Sommerfeld officiating. Burial will follow in the Cherokee Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Wednesday November 2, 2022 in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Steve was born October 11, 1953, in Cherokee, Oklahoma to Dwight and Wanda Rich and passed away Thursday October 28, 2022, in Enid. He attended Cherokee Public Schools, graduating in 1971 and attended Central State College in Edmond for three years. In 1980, Steve went to work for Koch Industries and after thirty-eight years, he retired in 2018 from Plains All-American Pipeline Company. In 2008, Steve married Cindy Gottsch in Cherokee, Oklahoma and added her two children Aaron and Allison to the family.  Steve loved to travel in his RV with Cindy and their two lab pups. His favorite times were “camping out” in the driveway with the grandkids.  He loved his church and Sunday School class at Grace Mennonite Church.  He loved people and no matter where they traveled, as he sat waiting for Cindy to finish shopping in fabric shops, he always found somebody to visit with that had something in common with him.  He loved to travel and attend the Gaither Vocal Band concerts.

Steve is survived by his wife Cindy, of the home; children, Tiffany Dorris and husband Derek, of Bethany, Teresa Miller and husband Jeremy, of Bethany,  Joshua Rich and wife Katie, of Sapulpa, Aaron Gottsch and wife Heather, of Cherokee, and Allison Inman and husband Robby, of Capron; twelve grandchildren, Molly and Ava Dorris, Noah, Harrison, Griffin, and Kyler Miller, Eli Rich, Raegan and Eden Gottsch, Kallie, Kutter and Kayclee Inman; mother-in-law Janet Hopkins; sister, Cindy Riddle and husband Donald; brother, Kevin Rich and wife Tammi; as well as numerous aunts, nephews, cousins, many loving friends, and his two special traveling buddies, his beloved dogs, Harley and Heidi.

He was proceeded in death by his parents and his father-in-law Carl Hopkins.

Memorials may be made in his honor to the Enid Salvation Army Angel Trees with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
