Terry Lee Wolever, 62, Springfield, Missouri, formerly of Enid met his Savior face to face on April 25, 2020. The Graveside service, under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home, will be held at the Enid Cemetery, Enid, OK., at 11:00 A.M. Monday May 04, 2020 with Pastor Gary Long officiating. An additional memorial service will be held at a later date in Springfield, Missouri, under the direction of Sovereign Grace Baptist Church, Springfield, MO. Terry was born to Daniel E. Wolever, Sr. and Anna Marie Wolever on October 05, 1957 in Mission, TX. The family moved to Enid from Columbus, MS in 1965. Terry graduated from Enid High School in 1976 and Oklahoma State University with a degree in History and secondary education. He later earned his BA in Theology from Baptist Bible College, Springfield, MO.

In 1996 he returned to Enid and owned and operated The Christian Book Shop. He moved to Springfield, MO. In 1999 to become the editor for Particular Baptist Press where he published, edited, and authored biographical books and history of the Particular Baptists. Terry was a Baptist historian with special expertise in using genealogy to research Baptist History. He is the author of The Life of John Gano 1727 – 1804, Pastor-Evangelist of the Philadelphia Association (2012). His theological reference books were studied worldwide and drew him great respect for his precise attention to detail. In spite of this acclaim, he maintained a very humble existence ministering at his church, Sovereign Grace Baptist Church of Springfield, MO. And even refused to receive an honorary doctorate from Southern Theological Seminary, Louisville, KY. because “he had not earned it”.

Terry is survived by his brother Dan (Lisa) Wolever, Jr,. of Enid, sisters Sheri (Ken) Martinez, of Longmont, CO., Darla Pugh, of Enid, and eleven nieces and nephews and their families.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brown-Cummings Funeral Home to help defray the costs of the services with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
