Warren Moore

The services celebrating and honoring the life of Warren Moore, 96, of Enid, will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday March 6, 2025 in the Brown-Cummings Chapel with pastor Dan Moore officiating. Complete cremation care and services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings, A life celebration home. 

Warren was born October 29, 1928 to Jessie and Ruby Moore in Braithwaite, Oklahoma and passed from this life March 1, 2025 in Enid, Oklahoma.

He was raised and educated in the Braithwaite and surrounding communities, graduating from Burns Flat High School with the class of 1945. He enlisted in the United States Army Air Corp serving two years and then transitioned to the Army Air Reserves for one year. He was then recalled to the United States Air Force and served both TAC and SAC squadrons throughout the world in the Intelligence Division, where he was one of the investigators of UFO’s with Project Blue Book. He ended his Air Force career at SAC headquarters, retiring from the United States Air Force after twenty years of honorable service. He then attended Oklahoma State University majoring in Wildlife Management, graduating in 1972. During school he also worked with the forestry department in Idaho as a firefighter. After graduation, he worked in Batavia, Illinois for an Environmental Impact Agency for two years while living in Kaneville, Illinois. He then moved to Enid, Oklahoma in 1976. He began working for Northrop at Vance Air Force base in the audiovisual department. He then flew to Alaska to work with his brother Pat one summer, flying as a bush pilot out of Tok, Alaska. When he came back to Enid, OK, he was often found flying his airplane “Lady Red Bird”, a Cessna 152, and began an ariel advertising business that he operated for two years. He absolutely loved to fly and flew every Sunday. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Community Bible Church. 

He is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Emerson, of Enid, Oklahoma and Jacqueline Dunn and her husband Timothy, of Pawnee, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one brother, Don Moore and his wife Mary of Washington, Oklahoma; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Royalty of Faye, Oklahoma, Linda Hiatt, of Rush Springs, Oklahoma, Eleanor Moore of Burns Flat, Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Letha Moore; parents Jessie and Ruby Moore; and three brothers Leon, Jim, and Pat Moore.

Memorials may be made in his honor to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.
